Our GIS Records Group is responsible for maintaining a state-of-the-art GIS database that captures the location and condition of transmission, distribution, substation and land-base assets relevant to Eversource’s electric network. This internship offers an opportunity to gain work experience and become familiar with the working environment at Eversource and the use of GIS within utilities in general. The GIS intern will be responsible for assisting with data maintenance in the GIS database and related projects. The scope of the projects will be based on the current needs of the records group. Data will be mostly digital, but it may be necessary to reference older paper records in order to reconcile data conflicts. The intern will work together with GIS team members, but you should also be comfortable working independently with little supervision.
