About The Position

As a 2025 Summer Intern in the Digital Workplace area, you will gain hands-on experience supporting technology solutions by integrating product management, project management, and agile (Scrum) practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance digital products, facilitate agile ceremonies, and assist in the planning and execution of technology projects. This internship offers exposure to the full lifecycle of digital workplace initiatives, empowering you to deliver valuable outcomes and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must have achieved 24 semester hours of academic credit before beginning the first work term.
  • Eligible to work in the United States at the Madison, WI National Headquarters for the duration of the internship.
  • Available for full-time internship during Summer 2025.
  • Strong interest in digital workplace solutions, product management, project management, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Solid understanding of basic technology concepts and practices related to gathering user requirements.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and execution skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to ask insightful questions and dive deep into issues.
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to facilitate team collaboration, decision-making, and conflict resolution.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on technology projects or digital products (coursework, extracurricular, or prior internships).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum frameworks and project management tools (such as Jira, Trello, Asana, or Microsoft Project).
  • Exposure to design thinking, UX, or customer experience concepts.
  • Leadership experience in academic, extracurricular, or volunteer settings.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of digital workplace product strategies as defined by senior product managers.
  • Participate in the enhancement and development of new digital products and services, gathering requirements and contributing ideas.
  • Assist in defining, prioritizing, and maintaining product backlog items, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
  • Facilitate Scrum events (Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospective, Backlog Refinement) for assigned teams.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and decompose user stories, drive continuous improvement, and track team metrics (velocity, burndown).
  • Shield the team from outside distractions and help remove impediments to delivery.
  • Leverage project management tools and methods to help plan, manage, and deliver technology projects on time and within budget.
  • Support project scope, integration, and communication across multiple initiatives, ensuring effective coordination and quality outcomes.
  • Assist in risk identification, management, and contingency planning for assigned projects.
  • Grow knowledge of design thinking, UX, and hybrid methodologies to deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Promote Agile principles and values, helping teams become self-organizing and collaborative.
  • Communicate project and product status to stakeholders, contributing to performance reporting and administrative closure.
