About The Position
Position Summary... A Walmart Realty Portfolio Internship is your gateway to exploring a career in real estate with the world’s largest retailer! We are looking for students who are eager to learn, possess strong analytical and financial skills, and are ready to tackle real-world challenges in a fast-paced environment. As an intern, you’ll work alongside Walmart’s new store real estate team on projects spanning diverse geographies, gaining hands-on experience in market evaluation, site acquisition, deal negotiation, and more. The Internship: Held over an 11-week period during the summer of 2026 for students in their penultimate year of college. The paid internship will prepare associates for a career in Realty by working on a meaningful project, networking with industry experts, and developing your skills at the Fortune 1 as you explore our HQ in Northwest Arkansas! What you'll do... WM Realty Portfolio Intern Work with the new store real estate team on projects across a wide variety of geographies Learn the fundamentals of Real Estate Finance applied to the retail marketplace Evaluate markets for expansion and strategic delivery of Supercenter, Neighborhood, and Sam’s Club Formats Participate in monthly Real Estate Approval Meetings & present one or more projects for approval Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Development Process / Cycle Market Evaluation, Site Acquisition, Broker Relationships, Deal Negotiation, Legal, Finance, Planning & Zoning, PR/GR, Design, Bid, Construction, and Grand Opening thru Operations Preliminary intro to Facilities Management, Energy, Fuel, Tenant Leasing, Excess Property, and Strategy teams in Realty Participate in a live Real Estate trip in the field with the Real Estate team & brokers What you will learn: How to manage multiple projects and demands simultaneously AI’s role and future influence on Real Estate and Retail Walmart Values, Purpose, and Culture Exposure and lessons from a variety of Leaders in Realty, Operations, and Finance Office Environment: Corporate, in-person internship U.S. Hub Locations: Bentonville, AR Desired Majors: Realty, Business Administration, Finance, Urban Planning,
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program currently
- Expected graduation date between December 2026 - May 2027
- A successful candidate will not require sponsorship from Walmart for authorization to work now or in the future.
Responsibilities
- Work with the new store real estate team on projects across a wide variety of geographies
- Learn the fundamentals of Real Estate Finance applied to the retail marketplace
- Evaluate markets for expansion and strategic delivery of Supercenter, Neighborhood, and Sam’s Club Formats
