TEAM OVERVIEW: Join our Applied Global Services organization as a Summer Algorithm Developer Intern, where you will build a Python based analytic application related to semiconductor equipment services. The team you will join develops models to improve Applied’s equipment performance as part of our service contracts. We work on improvement projects in the areas of output, defects, cost, and maintenance optimization. We are looking for a curious, creative, detail-oriented, and eager to learn student to work closely with experienced engineers to explore real-world semiconductor equipment data, develop analytical logic, validate results, and design a user-friendly interface for broader adoption.
Requirements
- Strong Python programming skill.
- Excel proficiency.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with databases and data modeling concepts.
- Understanding of statistical concepts.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field
- GPA of 3.0 or above preferred
Nice To Haves
- Experience applying Python to real-world applications is a plus.
- Knowledge of semiconductor equipment or manufacturing is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Data extraction. Collect and merge data from various databases.
- Data analysis. Develop scripts to analyze and plot data, enabling useful insights to be extracted.
- Interface design. Build a simple GUI or modify an existing GUI.
- Validation. Validate your application results with real-world data.
