About The Position

HGA has an exciting internship opportunity for students who are looking to gain hands-on experience in a national interdisciplinary design firm. As an HGA intern, you’ll see textbook and classroom learning come alive across disciplines and projects. You’ll learn the specifics of your profession while also learning about collaboration, and why the culture of a company matters so much. You’ll find mentors. You’ll find friends. You’ll have fun. Most importantly, you’ll leave with new skills, networking connections, and actual experience to discuss with prospective employers (which very well might be us.) This is a paid student internship and will be part-time during the school year and full-time from June 1, 2026 through mid-August. Work schedule can be flexible to accommodate classes during the school year. Requirements

  • At least a college sophomore standing pursuing an undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required, especially with Excel
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to quality and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills required
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to work a hybrid schedule (both in person in the Minneapolis office and remote)

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the department leadership, billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes
  • Route and process AP invoices
  • Prepare and assist with General Ledger account reconciliations, including preparation of journal entries
  • Aid in the month-end close process and financial review
  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely monthly financial reports for the Finance Committee and Board of Directors
  • Assist in annual audit preparation
  • Work on a variety of organizing and special financial projects
