About The Position

Bennett & Pless is seeking bright and motivated engineering students for our summer internship program in our Atlanta office. As an intern, you will be responsible for designing specific elements within overall structural systems for a variety of project types, including manufacturing, distribution, data center, commercial, self-storage, churches, historical, public sector, retail, adaptive reuse, and renovations, and existing facility analysis. You will interact and coordinate with structural engineers and Revit/CAD Designers to produce deliverables that comply with client expectations and Bennett & Pless quality levels. Your tasks will include preparing construction drawings in Revit/AutoCAD format, preparing calculations as directed by the project structural engineer, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, performing site reviews with the project structural engineer, and preparing RFI responses as directed by the project structural engineer.

Requirements

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Ability to learn applicable codes in project-specific jurisdictions and apply to the project.
• Experience in AutoCAD is required.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment on multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Pursuit of a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
• Experience in Revit is a plus.
• Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.
