The 2026 Strength & Conditioning Fellowship is designed to provide hands-on opportunities for the next generation of strength and conditioning professionals, specifically in high performance and tennis-specific strength and conditioning. This fellowship aims to train future leaders in strength and conditioning, focusing on tennis athletes and player development. It also offers a chance for independent research on current topics in strength & conditioning, player development, coaching, or related areas. The fellowship will last up to 18 weeks, from February to June, and includes a stipend of $10,500 plus approved travel expenses. Fellows will receive mentoring from USTA Player Development Strength and Conditioning staff and will have hands-on opportunities to learn how to run testing, set up training sessions, and engage in special projects designed to enhance their skills and knowledge. Additionally, fellows will apply their learnings in tennis-specific strength and conditioning sessions for select players training at the National Campus under a supervised coaching role. The program includes completion of online seminars, workshops, and skills training to develop frameworks for coaching competitive youth and professional tennis players, as well as the iTPA CTPS (Certified Tennis Performance Specialist) program. There will also be opportunities for professional engagement with mental skills specialists and national level performance coaches, along with skills development in leadership, player relations, and media relations. Additional on-site development opportunities will be available at other USTAPD training centers and regional centers, with potential travel to Training Centers in Carson, CA, Regional Training Centers, and various tournaments.
