About The Position

As a Product Environmental Compliance Engineer Co-op at MKS Inc., you will partner with Global Product Compliance to assess product BOMs for environmental compliance and execute regulatory compliance activities for MKS product lines nationally and internationally. In this role, you will report to the Director Operations, Compliance. This is a 12-month co-op assignment within a functional area of MKS Instruments that provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends. You will have meaningful work and project assignments, networking opportunities with peers and executives, exposure to different divisions of the business, and an understanding of MKS Instruments’ commitment to culture & belonging. The co-op term begins in January 2026, and candidates must be available for the entire duration of the assignment. This co-op can be based at many of our facilities in the United States such as Wilmington, MA, Irvine, CA, Broomfield, CO, Beaverton, OR, and more.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Material Science, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other relevant major.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of EPA TSCA, PFAS, RoHS, REACH, POP, FCC, CE, KC.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Excel calculations.
  • Python database coding.

Responsibilities

  • Closely partner with compliance engineers and product development teams globally to assess environmental compliance of products worldwide.
  • Data mine product BOMs for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
  • Participate in project/product discussions and respond to customer requests for documentation.
  • Prepare Declarations of Conformity and product environmental attestations.
  • Work with third-party laboratories to schedule and support compliance testing activities.
  • Generate training presentations.
