About The Position

Alcon is excited to host an immersive, 4-day, in-person externship development program designed for 30 high-potential students — rising undergraduate sophomores and first-year master’s students. The externship will focus on professional development, learning about the R&D function, and co-op and internship opportunities at Alcon. We believe diverse perspectives drive innovation at Alcon. Participants will not perform services for Alcon. In Person Location: Alcon headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas Duration: Monday, August 10, 2026 – Thursday, August 13, 2026 Meals, Hotel, and Transportation in the US: Covered by Alcon If you are selected to attend the Innovate Boldly Externship event, you will have the opportunity to: Participate in hands-on leadership development workshops Enhance your technical skills and learn more about research & development at Alcon Get advice and network with our ERG (Employee Resource Group) members Complete a team case study Attend developmental workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions You will receive an invitation to interview for a Summer 2027 Internship – please note that not all interviews will result in employment offers

Requirements

• Externship is unpaid and not for credit
• Expenses (travel, hotel, meals will be covered by Alcon)
• Current rising undergraduate sophomores (graduating between December 2028 – August 2029) and first-year master’s candidates (graduating between December 2027 – August 2029)
• Strong academic performance, current cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above
• Application closes Friday, February 20, 2026
• The externship is not virtual
• Must be able to participate in-person in Fort Worth, TX, on August 10 – August 13, 2026
• Must be currently enrolled in university, pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of the following degree programs: Human Factors, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Information Technology, Chemical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering
