About The Position

Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of golf cars, utility and personal transportation vehicles, professional turf-care equipment, and ground support equipment. Textron Specialized Vehicles markets products under several different brands. Its vehicles are found in environments ranging from golf courses to factories, airports to planned communities, and theme parks to hunting preserves. The Quality Engineering Intern will build plans, production tooling, and manufacturing processes for components and assemblies. The intern will redesign tooling to improve operators' work environments, analyze layouts and production processes to improve facility layouts for product flow, and create reference documents and standardized work for new or improved processes. Additionally, the intern will analyze quality concerns, make recommendations for improvement, and implement ideas. The role involves exploring new equipment and software that can reduce scrap and downtime and recommending changes to production flow to implement these recommendations. The intern will also monitor, communicate, and improve key supply chain KPIs including PPM, line disruptions, and days to close non-conforming material tickets (NCMT). Finally, the intern will develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, evaluate production processes to increase productivity, and investigate methods to enhance the product while coordinating material and tooling availability with appropriate stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field required.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher required.
  • Software Knowledge: Microsoft Office applications, CAD.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and drive to complete tasks and assignments.

Responsibilities
