About The Position

As a QA & Compliance Intern at AbbVie, you will spend your summer engaged with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, gaining world-class experience within one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry. You will support the R D Quality Assurance & Compliance team, which develops, implements, and continually improves the AbbVie Quality System in R D. The team ensures that clinical research and operations consistently meet regulatory requirements, internal standards, and ethical guidelines, thereby protecting patient safety, upholding data integrity, and supporting the reliable development and approval of products.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, computer sciences, life sciences (e.g., biology or biochemistry), bioengineering, biomedical engineering, public health, nursing, health sciences, biomedical sciences, clinical research, or other related degrees.
• Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship.
• Expected graduation date between December 2026 - June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Quality Assurance & Compliance team in reviewing clinical research processes and documentation for regulatory and internal compliance.
• Assisting with the organization, preparation, and archiving quality records and reports.
• Participating in internal audits and inspections by providing logistical support and post-audit follow-up.
• Learning about GxPs, relevant regulations, and the company's Quality System through training sessions and hands-on tasks.
• Helping with the drafting and updating of standard operating procedures (SOPs) under supervision.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and help resolve quality or compliance issues.
• Contributing to basic data collection and analysis for quality metrics and reporting.
• Preparing materials (slides, reports) for team meetings and summarizing findings as needed.
