In this position you will gain valuable real life packaging engineering experience by assisting Package Engineers in the development, testing and management of projects involving multi-wall paper bags, plastic retort, plastic films and plastic bags, cans and corrugated secondary packaging. Activities include test design and implementation, prototyping, transportation testing and specification development. Experience in both development and manufacturing will be provided through trips to package material and product manufacturing facilities. Mentoring by Sr. Engineers will provide guidance in protocol development and testing efficiency. This is a paid internship that provides a very competitive hourly pay rate plus a generous housing/ relocation assistance stipend.

  • Assist Package Engineers in the development, testing and management of packaging projects.
  • Design and implement tests for packaging materials.
  • Prototype packaging solutions.
  • Conduct transportation testing and develop specifications.
  • Visit manufacturing facilities for hands-on experience.
  • Receive mentorship from Senior Engineers.
  • Current student seeking a Bachelor's or Master's degree in packaging engineering or relevant technical degree.
  • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA.
  • Authorization to work in the United States with no need for sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Mobility and ability to relocate to Topeka, Kansas for 6 months.
