About The Position

We are hiring 2026 Manufacturing Engineering Summer Interns (KWW)- Grand Rapids, MI to learn and grow in a furniture manufacturing environment. As a global company, you will have the opportunity to tackle unique manufacturing challenges and engineer creative solutions. You will also have the opportunity to network with engineers from a variety of disciplines and locations.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Engineering.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• This internship requires the student to be at a Steelcase facility each day.
• Reliable transportation to and from the office is recommended, many of our sites do not have access to public transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with equipment such as hand tools, mills, lathe, welding, paint, construction, etc.
• Preferred majors for this position: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Applied Engineering Sciences, Manufacturing Engineering.
• Preferred academic standing for this position: December 2026 - May 2028 Graduates.

Responsibilities

• You'll be based in our LEED certified, clean plant; this is not a typical factory.
• You'll develop a firm understanding of the plant processes.
• Working on multiple initiatives to reduce cost of products.
• Resolving quality issues with existing products.
