About The Position

In both programs, you will interact with current professionals and fellow participants, expand your knowledge of public accounting, and feel at home when launching your career. 2026 Leadership Program: Start Up with Frank, Rimerman: Available virtually or in-person in our San Jose office, this one-day program offers exposure to our entrepreneurial community as you learn more about our rotational accounting internship and full-time positions. Start Up with Frank, Rimerman will introduce you to our service lines in a small group format to help you build relationships and become familiar with our culture leading into your 2027 Summer Internship. We offer four separate program sessions with date options ranging from January through April. Date and format preferences can be discussed during the interview process. 2027 Rotational Accounting Summer Internship: Our dynamic Rotational Summer Internship allows students majoring in accounting to build a foundation in both Audit and Tax . You will work with professionals at all levels as they provide business solutions to our innovative Silicon Valley clients. We aim to provide an authentic internship experience so all interns can feel confident joining us full-time. We are proud to be a top ranked accounting internship by Vault! Interns will be based out of our San Francisco, San Jose, or San Diego offices, but some mobility throughout the surrounding areas is required for training and offsite activities. San Diego interns will also have the opportunity to travel to the Bay Area for the Firm’s Annual Meeting.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's and/or Master's program with a concentration in accounting
  • At least one accounting course in progress to be considered for the Leadership Program
  • At least one accounting course completed to receive a 2027 internship offer
  • On track to complete a minimum of three accounting courses prior to the 2027 internship program
  • Minimum GPA of 3.2, with "B" grades or above in accounting courses and a higher major GPA preferred
  • Final graduation date with academic requirements for CPA licensure eligibility between December 2027 and August 2028
  • Demonstrates clear, professional written and oral communication
  • Internship applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Working on audit engagements and developing an understanding of audit processes
  • Preparing income tax returns (individual, fiduciary, partnership, not-for-profit and corporate)
  • Attending department meetings and client engagement planning sessions
  • Assisting with business risk consulting and compliance projects
  • Processing business transactions into accounting records and appropriate financial statements
  • Learning standardized office and accounting-related software
