Job Summary: Raytheon's SETC stands for the Systems Engineering and Test Center, a core part of Raytheon (now RTX), focusing on designing, integrating, developing, and testing complex defense systems (hardware/software) for various platforms. This position is an onsite role This position can be a Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below: (Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship (Senior Technical Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship (Post-Graduate Technical Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship

Requirements

  • Current Active TS/SCI with CI poly government clearance
  • The ability to maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Must be pursuing a BS (or higher) degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate standing level by the start of Summer 2026.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware errors and provide fixes

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or interest in structural mechanics, material science, or mechanical systems design.
  • Familiarity with technical drawings or software such as CAD, solidworks, or similar tools
  • Experience with hands-on mechanical assembly, fabrication, or maintenance activities
  • Strong attention to detail and ability follow technical specifications and safety protocols

Responsibilities

  • Support hardware engineering team with maintenance, inspection, and documentation
  • Participate in hands-on troubleshooting and repair activities for mechanical components of hardware systems
  • Develop and update maintenance procedures and technical documentation for specialized equipment
