Our Internship Program provides undergraduate students with a structured and meaningful learning experience designed to prepare them for future careers and help them make informed decisions about their professional aspirations. This 10-week opportunity focuses on building foundational business knowledge while helping interns understand how to effectively operate and grow in a corporate environment. This opportunity is part of SEI’s broader professional and leadership development continuum, designed to support early career talent as they explore potential career paths. While the internship does not guarantee full-time placement, it provides meaningful exposure to SEI’s culture, ways of working, and development opportunities that may support future consideration for additional early career programs. Interns will work in a hybrid model from our corporate headquarters in Oaks, Pennsylvania. The team works with client to propose possible solutions for their stated problems. Upon approval of a solution the team working on the development, testing, and delivery of the application code. The team members participate various client discussion with stakeholders at all levels. SEI Data Office AI Intern: We are seeking an AI Engineer Intern to support applied AI initiatives, with a focus on Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic workflows, and AI-assisted automation. This role provides hands-on experience building, evaluating, and iterating on AI-powered solutions that deliver practical outcomes in an enterprise environment. As an intern, you will collaborate with AI engineers, data and software teams, and business stakeholders to identify high-impact use cases and integrate AI capabilities into real workflows. You’ll help prototype and productionize solutions (e.g., retrieval-augmented generation, prompt and tool orchestration, evaluation harnesses, and lightweight MLOps patterns), while learning responsible AI, security, and governance practices relevant to a regulated enterprise. The role is designed to provide meaningful technical mentorship and learning opportunities while contributing to initiatives that advance SEI’s AI strategy. Criteria: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field Foundational programming skills (Python preferred) and strong analytical/problem-solving ability Understanding of core AI/ML concepts and familiarity with LLM capabilities and limitations Ability to communicate clearly and document technical work for both technical and non-technical audiences Hands-on exposure to LLM frameworks or tooling (e.g., LangChain, Semantic Kernel, prompt orchestration patterns) Exposure to agentic patterns (tool calling, function calling, planning, memory, multi-agent collaboration) Experience with vector search / embeddings and RAG pipelines (indexing, retrieval, relevance evaluation) Familiarity with common AI developer tools (GitHub Copilot or similar) and experimentation workflows Basic understanding of cloud platforms and APIs used to integrate AI services into applications Our Story: We are a technology and asset management company delivering on our promise of building brave futures (SM)—for our clients, our communities, and ourselves.
