The Effector RF Products Department (ERFP) is seeking current college students for an RF antenna internship position. In this role, the candidate would support the development of RF products and technologies including antennas, RF electronics, and supporting test equipment as part of a multi-discipline team. A successful candidate is one with the skillset and passion required to solve complex engineering problems, properly apply engineering tools and processes, and leverage knowledge from previous coursework and projects. The ERFP department is seeking talented engineers with the skills and passion to work on complex projects that shape antenna, radome, and antenna measurement system technology within the company. The selected candidate will be contributing to teams and executing tasks in various antenna and radome design life cycles. This is an intern-level Electrical Engineering position for an individual with educational experience and/or professional interest in the application of technical antenna principles, concepts, and techniques. All Candidates will work within a larger team at Raytheon. Interns perform meaningful engineering tasks for their assigned projects and will also have access to a variety of career development opportunities. These include access to technical mentors and the ability to “shadow” experienced professionals in order to learn about real industry positions. This position is located in Tucson, AZ and is an on-site role.

Requirements

  • Post-Graduate by the start of Summer 2026 in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) degree.
  • Experience with modeling & simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, FEKO, SENTRi and/or GRASP.
  • Must be pursuing a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major.

Nice To Haves

  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher is desired.
  • Solid background and practical understanding of designing GPS antenna systems (to include experience or relevant course work).
  • Model generation and simulation experience with conformal antennas (to include experience or relevant course work).
  • Proficiency with Python, MATLAB and/or other high level scientific programming languages.

Responsibilities

  • Development of antenna or radome hardware and requirements.
  • Working with interdisciplinary engineering teams including thermal, structural, mechanical, systems, etc.
  • Working with antenna manufacturing suppliers.
  • Antenna modeling and simulation execution on workstations and high performance computing resources (HPC).
  • Analyzing simulation or measurement test data to verify performance to requirements.
