Manufacturing Engineering interns can expect to learn production operations and the manufacturing discipline in a controlled environment. They develop manufacturing skills, an understanding of manufacturing engineering or production test engineering, and Raytheon systems and tools. Manufacturing Engineers build technical depth in manufacturing or testing processes and are accountable for improvement and optimization.

Requirements

  • Must be at least a sophomore by the start of summer 2026 pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree majoring in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace or closely related Engineering major.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
  • Experience with manufacturing
  • Experience or education with lean manufacturing
  • Experience/education with technical writing and interpretation of technical documentation
  • Experience or education with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance analysis
  • Strong engineering aptitude and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Technical problem solving
  • Experience/education with project execution
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PPT, Project, Word)

Responsibilities

  • Design, control, and improve the manufacturing process through collaboration with a multi-disciplined team
  • Improve cycle time and lead time
  • Implement manufacturing process control and performance monitoring
  • Create and oversee improvement projects
  • Translate engineering design requirements into manufacturing processes
  • Perform hardware defect analysis
  • Participate in corrective action investigations.
