This 8-12 week internship program is designed to empower growth by exploring the dynamic nature of the defense industry through the North Texas Environmental, Health & Safety team. This team is responsible for providing services and solutions to safeguard people and protect the environment for sites in Cityline, McKinney, Love Field, and Richardson, TX. Throughout the summer, you will be able to expand your knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety as a whole while also gaining unprecedented exposure to leadership along the way. You’ll have opportunities to meet with other intern program participants, engage with senior leaders on topics of innovation, leadership and technology, and connect through an individual mentorship program. Our ultimate goal is to bring great talent to Raytheon. All rising junior interns will have the opportunity to be considered for a returning internship or part time work as you continue your studies. This position supports multiple locations in North Texas but is based in the Cityline location of Richardson, TX with frequent travel to the McKinney, TX location.

Requirements

  • Must be at least a sophomore by the start of summer 2026 pursuing a degree in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical), Science (Environmental, Health, Safety – Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene), Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Facilities, Mathematics or other related environmental or sustainability discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Responsibilities

  • The intern will be focused on revamping the Refrigerant Management program across four sites in the North Texas area of varying size and complexity.
  • The intern would be charged with learning the new requirements and working with EHS and Facilities at the various sites to develop a plan for program improvement and implementation.
  • A successful candidate would implement key components of the plan by the end of the summer, design and get stakeholder support on common processes, standardize documentation, and get buy-in on roles and responsibilities for all elements of the refrigerant management program at the North Texas sites.
  • Program elements include maintaining/updating the refrigerant system inventory, service and repair records, gas cylinder management, leak rate calculations, equipment retrofit/retirement planning, periodic and follow-up leak testing, and recycling/disposal of refrigerants.
  • Additional tasks and smaller projects may be assigned such as supporting the managing and inspection of satellite hazardous waste accumulation areas at the McKinney, TX manufacturing location.
