Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. We are seeking a driven and talented Electrical Engineering Summer Intern to join our team. This position focuses on AMD VHDL design, with opportunities to apply your knowledge of machine learning principles to cutting-edge projects. As part of our engineering team, you will work in a collaborative, innovative environment to support advanced design and development efforts in the fields of aerospace and defense.

Requirements

  • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their (Sophomore year) by the start of summer 2026.
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Coursework or experience in VHDL coding, FPGA design, and simulation.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Familiarity with hardware acceleration for machine learning algorithms.
  • Knowledge of aerospace and defense systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AMD FPGA platforms and tools (e.g., Vivado, ModelSim, etc.).
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and their practical applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, simulate, and verify VHDL designs targeting AMD FPGA platforms.
  • Collaborate on the development and optimization of FPGA-based systems for aerospace and defense applications.
  • Integrate machine learning principles into hardware design workflows to enhance system performance.
  • Assist in the implementation and validation of hardware/software co-design projects.
  • Document design processes, results, and technical findings to share with internal teams.
  • Support troubleshooting, debugging, and testing of FPGA systems.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings and contribute innovative ideas to solve engineering challenges.
