About The Position

The Inclusion and Belonging Internship at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art offers an emerging professional the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that advance the museum’s commitment to inclusion and belonging. Working closely with the Inclusion and Belonging team, the intern will support initiatives that foster a welcoming, accessible, and affirming environment for all visitors, staff, and community partners. Through hands-on project work, research, program support, and collaboration across departments, the intern will gain valuable experience in organizational strategy, community engagement, and inclusive practices within the museum field. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about cultural equity, social impact, and using art as a platform for connection and dialogue. The Inclusion and Belonging Intern will also have opportunities for professional development, mentorship, and networking with museum professionals, contributing to their growth as future leaders in arts, culture, and inclusion work. Requirements

  • To qualify for bachelor’s or master’s hours, you must be enrolled in an accredited program or have graduated from an accredited program within the last three years. Students will be required to submit a current schedule or official transcript.

Responsibilities

  • Research and Writing Research best practices
  • Assist in writing reports for department initiatives
  • Contribute to ongoing projects
  • Community Engagement (internal and external)
  • Support the facilitation of museum advisory councils
  • Collaborate with departments across the museum
  • Understand components of community development internally and externally
  • Workplace Culture and Staff Engagement
  • Learn about departments and their roles
  • Learn about and assist with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
  • Assist with ERG Celebrations Cultural Heritage Months Guest Speakers
  • Procedures and Structure
  • Support accessibility initiatives across the museum
  • Develop and facilitate workshops to support staff development
  • Assist with facilitating meetings
  • The intern will work closely with the Director of Inclusion and Belonging to learn and gain real world experience.
