About The Position

Walker & Dunlop is one of the largest providers of capital to the commercial real estate industry, enabling real estate owners and operators to bring their visions of communities to life. The Summer Internship Program provides a dynamic environment for students to learn aspects of the commercial real estate finance industry. Interns will play supporting and individual contributor roles and have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our business through hands-on training. The Servicing Team services all Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA Finance loans, and consists of six main functional areas: Loan Administration, Asset Management, Insurance Compliance, Investor Reporting, Treasury, and Compliance. Interns on the HUD Asset Management team will monitor property financial statements and inspections along with general portfolio surveillance.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled full-time and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an undergraduate program at an accredited university.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Must be able to commit to the 10-week program beginning June 1st and ending August 7th.
  • Relevant work experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Contact borrowers to request HUD Audited Financial Statements.
  • Review Audited Financial Statements for findings and other metrics.
  • QC data quality in internal servicing system.
  • Review quarterly financial reporting submissions from healthcare operators for accuracy and completeness in preparation for submission to HUD.
  • Ensure quality of loan and client data in the company’s servicing system.
  • Handle additional projects as assigned.
  • Communicate and problem-solve daily with teammates and other internal stakeholders.
