About The Position

Walker & Dunlop’s Summer Internship Program provides a dynamic environment for students to learn aspects of the commercial real estate finance industry. Each year, W&D invites a distinguished group of interns to participate in a ten-week training and mentoring program to help build their skills and learn about the organization. Interns will play supporting and individual contributor roles and have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our business through hands-on training. Our Servicing Team services all Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA Finance loans originated by the Company, as well as certain life insurance company, bank, and CMBS loans. The Department consists of six main functional areas: Loan Administration, Asset Management, Insurance Compliance, Investor Reporting, Treasury, and Compliance. The Company’s Servicing portfolio is the 8th largest in the U.S., and the Servicing Team is one of Fitch’s highest-rated Servicers, with a rating of CPS1-. GSE Asset Management is responsible for approximately 5,000 Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac/CME loans with total outstanding balances over $100B.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled full-time and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an undergraduate program at an accredited university
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be able to commit to the 10-week program beginning June 1st and ending August 7th
  • Relevant work experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Loan and functional contact management in our systems
  • Operating Statement collection, tracking, facilitating vendor review and Box filing
  • Assists with Inspection scheduling and related communications with staff, vendors and borrowers
  • Assists with replacement reserve/repair and other escrows processes
  • Data entry tasks where data needs to be entered into our systems
  • Communication and follow up with borrowers
  • Contribute to process improvement projects
