About The Position

The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Support Function Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals. Our company’s Global Communications organization has an opportunity for a summer communications intern. This individual will collaborate across multiple teams to support internal and external communications with an opportunity to learn from Global Communications leaders at all levels. The internship role will be focused on the development, execution and reporting of key programs, initiatives and experiences that support our company's purpose of using the power of leading-edge science to save and improve lives around the world.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be currently in their junior year or above pursuing a college degree preferably in a related field (e.g., Business, English, Marketing/Communications) OR have a minimum of a high school diploma and have completed at least 1 internship, apprenticeship, co-op or equivalent professional role in a communications-related field
  • Candidates must be available to work full-time for the summer months beginning in May 2026 through August 2026
  • Candidates must have computer proficiency with Windows-based applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Coursework or interest in public health, life sciences, or healthcare communications is a plus
  • SharePoint experience a plus
  • Video and social media experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with editorial team to support delivery of our content strategy, including producing written, visual and video content for internal and external channels (e.g., intranet, company websites, social media, etc.)
  • Partner with the analytics team to regularly evaluate the effectiveness of our communications and provide recommendations for how to improve audience reach and engagement for both internal and external channels
  • Support the planning and execution of employee engagement activities, including event planning, development of briefing materials, content creation and more
  • Assist in media relations, such as drafting press releases, fielding media inquiries, tracking news coverage and compiling and distributing media reports
  • Effectively partner with cross-functional subject matter experts to secure and incorporate input into communications materials
  • Conduct research to support communication strategies and initiatives
  • Support the communications team in day-to-day tasks and special projects
