About The Position

The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Global Support Functions Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals. The Chemical Safety Management Intern will support our chemical safety and compliance efforts within the Environmental, Health and Safety department at the Millsboro, DE Site. This internship offers hands-on experience in chemical inventory management, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional program analysis including process safety management, incident investigation, and emergency planning.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related technical field.
• Completed at least 2 years of college course work.
• Able to work full time for a period of 9-12 weeks.
• Critical thinking, communication, problem-solving and computer skills.
• Ability to receive verbal or written direction and implement corresponding changes.
• Ability to think critically about process inefficiencies and propose solutions.

Nice To Haves

• Prior internship or work experience in the Environmental, Health, and Safety field or in chemical manufacturing.
• Ability to convey ideas and explain decisions in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in updating and maintaining chemical inventory to meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the accuracy of the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database.
• Help identify correlations between chemical management and other programs such as wastewater treatment, medical surveillance, and peroxide handling.
