About The Position

At Regions, the Intern works on department assignments while learning more about the financial services industry. As an intern, you will experience Regions’ values while receiving job skills and training, personal development, and networking opportunities. Regions offers college internship opportunities within various departments. At Regions, the Technology, Operations, Digital, and Data Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting department initiatives while learning more about the financial services industry. Interns will complete projects aligning to strategic objectives and have exposure to senior executives. Interns will also participate in training sessions, networking opportunities, and social activities throughout the summer. The Technology, Operations, Digital, and Data Intern will gain experience applying their technical, analytical, or business skills through placement in one of the following potential areas: Cybersecurity Data & Analytics Digital Banking Financial Crimes Unit Technology Operations & Enterprise Platforms Software Engineering

Requirements

  • A college student who has interest in developing technical skills and gaining work experience
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week for 10 weeks
  • Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

  • College student pursuing undergraduate or graduate degree majoring in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or other related degrees.
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week for 11 weeks on-site in Birmingham, AL

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred rising senior-level college student or master student
  • Preferred minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Experience with visualization software
  • Proficiency in programming languages
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, or SAS
  • Experience with visualization software such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology
  • Proven dedication to excellence and achieving results

Responsibilities

  • Receives exposure to all basic functions of assigned group within the financial industry
  • Exposed to a wide range of tasks including research, administrative and correspondence work and attend meetings
  • Provides assistance in projects
  • Gains valuable insight within a variety of functions while strengthening core skills and knowledge needed to launch a successful career
  • Responsibilities will vary by internship
