About The Position

At Regions, the Intern works on department assignments while learning more about the financial services industry. Requirements

  • A college student who has interest in developing technical skills and gaining work experience
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week for 10 weeks
  • Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position
  • Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Working knowledge of procurement, supply chain, or contract management methodology; and interest and aptitude for technology related projects
  • Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high quality work
  • Strong technical aptitude, demonstrated quality service mindset, critical thinking and quantitative skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to interact with senior management, suppliers, and other external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between functional organizations

Responsibilities

  • Receives exposure to all basic functions of assigned group within the financial industry
  • Exposed to a wide range of tasks including research, administrative and correspondence work and attend meetings
  • Provides assistance in projects
  • Gains valuable insight within a variety of functions while strengthening core skills and knowledge needed to launch a successful career
  • Help execute process and strategy improvements related to procurement, strategic sourcing, inclusive supply chain management, e-commerce, or operational improvements
  • Facilitate the identification and competitive selection of vendors to provide products and services based on optimum mix of price, quality and services offered to the bank
  • Negotiate, analyze, and drive vendor relationships and metrics to enhance business outcomes
  • Deepen knowledge associated with steps to create, develop, and maintain relationships with vendors
  • Provide subject matter expertise in vendor evaluation and performance measurement, contract negotiating, quarterly business reviews, total cost of ownership analysis, risk analysis, and compliance requirements
  • Contribute to design, preparation and analysis of reports and findings in a clear, logical, and concise manner
  • Compare and evaluate market for new vendors
  • Complete special projects as requested
