About The Position

The Quality Engineer Co-Op at GM is designed for students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a graduation date between August 2026 and June 2028. This role emphasizes analytical problem-solving in a manufacturing environment, focusing on quality and safety. The successful candidate will act as a technical liaison between production operations, engineering, suppliers, and supplier quality at a GM manufacturing plant. The position requires full-time commitment and involves working onsite at one of the specified locations.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Must be graduating between August 2026 and June 2028.
  • Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Must be willing to work in a plant environment.
  • Enrolled in a co-op program at your university.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with production and engineering on part measurement results to part print specifications to assure quality and reliability.
  • Ensure effective containment and resolution to identified non-conforming product.
  • Communicate emerging issues for responsible components daily to Quality Systems Manager.
  • Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified spills.
  • Validate supplier scrap.
  • Work with Supplier Practical Problem Solving (SPPS) process on supplier related issues.
  • Support the PTR Process by running PTR's and evaluating impact on the product/function.
  • Support launch activities of new products.
  • Support the implementation and effective adherence to all elements within GMS.
