About The Position

Walker & Dunlop is one of the largest providers of capital to the commercial real estate industry, enabling real estate owners and operators to bring their visions of communities to life. The Summer Internship Program provides a dynamic environment for students to learn aspects of the commercial real estate finance industry. Interns will play supporting and individual contributor roles and have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our business through hands-on training. The Servicing Team services all Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA Finance loans, ensuring that the requirements of the investors are met from loan closing through payoff. The Department consists of six main functional areas: Loan Administration, Asset Management, Insurance Compliance, Investor Reporting, Treasury, and Compliance. The Company’s Servicing portfolio is the 8th largest in the U.S., and the Servicing Team is one of Fitch’s highest-rated Servicers.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled full-time and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in an undergraduate program at an accredited university
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must be able to commit to the 10-week program beginning June 1st and ending August 7th
  • Relevant work experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Collection of annual and quarterly property financial statements and rent rolls
  • Assist with analysis and submission of annual property financial statements and rent rolls to Capital Markets lenders
  • Research and analyze variances in property occupancy, income and operating expenses
  • Assist with Property Inspection review and communications with staff, vendors and borrowers
  • Assist with property valuations and local market research
  • Data entry tasks where data needs to be entered into our systems
  • Communication and follow up with borrowers
  • Contribute to process improvement projects
