About The Position

The New York Life Summer Internship experience offers an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors looking to gain exposure to a corporate environment. As part of your summer, you'll participate in learning and development activities, gaining insight into our business and how our company functions. The summer internship program also includes additional social and networking opportunities where you will be able to expand your network with peers, mentors and senior leaders. The Summer Internship opportunity is 10 weeks long, beginning Monday June 1st, 2026, and concluding Thursday, August 6, 2026. Interns will work on a hybrid schedule with Fridays remotely. Internship opportunities are located in our New York, NY office.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled at an accredited 4-year university or college with anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.

Nice To Haves

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills; SQL, Power BI, or other data visualization tools a plus.
• Familiarity with Bloomberg and financial markets/terminology.
• Exposure to accounting, finance, economics, or capital markets coursework.
• Strong written and oral communication abilities.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical rigor.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain meaningful exposure to the investment management industry.
• Contribute to a variety of projects that may include portfolio management, new deal analysis, market research, credit evaluation, accounting, and commercial real estate investment oversight.
• Work alongside investment professionals.
• Develop analytical and technical skills.
• Gain insight into the decision-making processes that guide institutional investing.
• Assist in projects and responsibilities as determined by the internship manager and team.
