To learn more, visit www.LAalliance.org. ROLE SUMMARY This position is a collaborative effort with Marshall Teacher Residency and offers a unique teaching apprenticeship opportunity. Throughout the one-year teacher residency program, each resident will receive financial aid covering living expenses ranging from $32,000 to $52,500. Teacher Residents will spend four days per week at Alliance school sites, gaining hands-on experience working with scholars. They will devote one full day per week to attending credential coursework classes. ABOUT MARSHALL TEACHER RESIDENCY Aspiring teachers can obtain a teaching credential in just one year through the Marshall Teacher Residency program. One of the most comprehensive residencies for aspiring teachers in the nation, Marshall provides a pathway to Single and Multiple Subject Teaching, as well as Education Specialist instruction. Marshall places hands-on practice, data-driven learning, collaboration, and mentorship at the heart of the year-long program. If you are interested in the Teacher Resident position at Alliance, only Single-Subject credential pathways (Math, ELA, Spanish, Social Science, & Science) are available. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or expected bachelor’s degree in June 2026)
  • Be eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Provide Excellent College-Preparatory Instruction to all Scholars
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a positive, achievement-oriented, supportive, and collaborative culture of high expectations that motivates and inspires scholars to learn at college-preparatory levels.
  • Assist in effectively executing assigned curriculum and just-in-time support to reach every scholar, regardless of prior academic background, disability, or English language fluency.
  • Assist with the internalizing of assigned curriculum, tied to specific grade level and content standards, in teacher teams and individually to prepare daily lesson plans, instructional materials, and exit tickets aligned to rigorous college-ready standards (e.g., Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, etc.).
  • Welcome and incorporate feedback from the coaching, guidance, and feedback provided by the program director, school leaders, and Marshall and Alliance Mentors.
  • Uphold Alliance Values and Standards of Excellence
  • Exhibit a continuous improvement mindset to provide scholars opportunities aligned to Alliance’s Graduate Profile.
  • Observe and internalize the process for timely and high-quality submission of school requirements such as intellectual preparation/lesson plans, unit plans, and re-teaching plans.
  • Assist in providing a coherent and supportive classroom culture aligned to the school-wide culture policy and observe the keeping of documentation of all interventions taken to support scholar engagement, learning, and well-being.
  • Assist with the maintaining of accurate, current records for attendance and coursework.
