In the 2026–2027 school year , Santa Fe South continues the growth of El Camino Elementary , our sixth elementary campus. Now entering its second year, El Camino is expanding to serve Pre-K through 2nd grade while continuing to build the culture, instructional practices, and traditions that will define the school for years to come. Position Overview El Camino Elementary is seeking a Founding Elementary Music Teacher who is passionate about inspiring a love of music and contributing to a growing school community. This educator will build foundational musicianship skills, foster creativity and confidence, and create joyful musical experiences for students across Pre-K through 2nd grade . As part of a second-year, growth-phase campus, the music teacher serves as both an educator and a builder—helping shape the arts program, establish routines and expectations, and contribute meaningfully to school culture. The ideal candidate brings strong musical expertise, flexibility, and a relationship-centered approach to teaching.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong musical background (instrumental, vocal, or both)
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Santa Fe South Charter Schools

Nice To Haves

  • Oklahoma Teaching Certification (Music or Elementary), or willingness to pursue certification
  • Experience teaching children in school, community, or private lesson settings
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned music instruction incorporating singing, movement, listening, instruments, musical literacy, and creative expression
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of English learners and students with diverse learning styles and musical backgrounds
  • Foster student confidence, participation, and joy in music-making
  • Create a structured, joyful learning environment with clear routines and high expectations
  • Build strong relationships that encourage creativity, risk-taking, and performance
  • Support schoolwide goals through participation in intervention blocks or student support as needed
  • Plan and facilitate performances, concerts, and arts-based community events
  • Maintain classroom instruments, materials, and organizational systems
  • Communicate regularly with families about student growth and performance opportunities
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, campus leaders, and specials teams to support a cohesive school culture
  • Participate in professional development and coaching tailored to specials and resource teachers
  • Contribute to cross-grade or interdisciplinary initiatives as the school grows
