The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging, Breast Imaging Division at the University of Virginia, is seeking candidates for multiple Clinical Instructor positions to begin on July 1, 2026. This one-year post-graduate fellowship program is designed to provide comprehensive training in all aspects of breast imaging. The fellowship will cover essential areas such as screening and diagnostic mammography, including advanced techniques like tomosynthesis, contrast-enhanced mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI. Additionally, fellows will gain hands-on experience in image-guided breast procedures, which include stereotactic, tomosynthesis-guided, ultrasound-guided, and MRI-guided core biopsies, as well as wire and radioseed localizations. The fellowship is part of the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) Fellowship Match process, sponsored by the Society of Breast Imaging, and candidates are required to be members of the NRMP. The program not only focuses on clinical training but also offers optional moonlighting opportunities. The UVA Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging provides final reads for emergency department patients on a 24/7 basis, with overnight coverage managed by attendings and fellows who choose to participate. This allows fellows to work from home during overnight shifts, enhancing their income while maintaining and developing their general radiology skills in preparation for board examinations and future practice.
