About The Position

Our program is designed to support professional growth as well as personal well-being. Summer associates participate in a robust series of training opportunities, including writing workshops, hands-on skills sessions, and substantive practice group programming to help them build confidence and sharpen their legal skills. Complementing this, our wellbeing program offers resources and events focused on balance, resilience, and overall wellness, ensuring our summers feel supported both inside and outside of work. Requirements

• Must be enrolled at an ABA-accredited law school.
• Commitment to promoting inclusion within the firm based on life experiences or challenges.
• Strong record of academic and personal achievement.
• Genuine interest in pursuing a career at McDermott upon graduation.
• Intent to live and practice in the city or region of the office.
• Anticipated JD graduation date of Spring 2028.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the McDermott Summer Associate Program including training, networking, integration, and social opportunities.
• Engage in writing workshops and hands-on skills sessions to enhance legal skills.
• Receive mentorship and formal feedback throughout the program.

Benefits

• Weekly salary of $4,326 for the duration of the program.
• $15,000 scholarship toward law school education upon completion of the program.
• Opportunity to earn an offer to return as a 2027 Summer Associate.
