This opportunity is specifically designed to build out talent on the Mainframe Team as a Mainframe Staff Engineer in which candidates will learn various functions such as programming, managing requests, and creating/managing test cycles. Candidates will receive structured training, management support in career development, and the opportunity to explore the value of mainframe which is a core foundational technology at the bank. The candidate will provide engineering support for system management activities related to system software, hardware, performance, and problem determination. It will require communication and coordination with technicians, clients, and management. This role's responsibilities include analysis, design, testing, development and maintenance, performing detailed analysis of various projects and requests; developing designs for projects that have medium to high complexity; formulating procedures; monitoring key performance indicators; and implementing business solutions. The candidate is a self-motivated individual who can collaborate with teams across the organization. The candidate will be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.

  • Engaging in the work responsibilities of each area, learning the importance of the area and how it supports the bank.
  • Gaining an understanding of the organizational structures, general business knowledge and various technologies.

  • Identifying and recommending enhancements to existing processes and procedures.
  • Assist and provide guidance on project/program planning phases and process.
  • Assist with large to enterprise size projects/programs/initiatives/services with high complexity across multiple functional area(s).
  • Review, participate, develop and update guiding principles, rationales and strategies.
  • Review design solutions for business and infrastructure project or programs or initiatives.
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in: Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, I/O Engineering, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Information Management, and Cybersecurity.
  • 2-3 years of technology experience and leading or participating in group projects.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and technical aptitude.
  • Time management skills, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Team player, and ability to handle multiple assignments.

  • Knowledge of mainframe COBOL, JCL, FTP, CICS, SAS, JIRA, TPX/TSO IBM mainframe, Endevor, Service Now, Outlook, Excel + visual basic, Word, Viso, Sharepoint, File Aid, DB2, VSAM files, IBM Utilities (gener, sort, IDCAMS).
  • Hands on experience coding HOGAN Deposits.
  • Mainframe Cobol, JCL, IMS DB, MQ and VSAM development experience.
  • Strong Endevor, EzTrieve, File-Aid, and TSO Development skills.
