About The Position

The Internship position within Supply Chain at Williams Sonoma is a paid, 10-week program held annually each summer. This internship offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Interns will support day-to-day operations and various projects and initiatives from our Distribution Centers. The role involves helping to develop, implement, and enhance current processes to improve overall operational quality and efficiencies within the Distribution Centers. Interns will participate in and provide detailed feedback on special operations projects throughout our Hub and DC locations, ensuring that their work is highly visible to leadership and has a direct impact on the organization. Interns will engage in typical assignments and projects that cover a range of areas including Shipping, Receiving, Inventory Control, Replenishment, Transportation, Engineering, and Manufacturing. The duties and responsibilities of the internship are designed to prepare candidates for a successful career in Supply Chain Management and Operations. Interns will gain exposure to innovative best practices throughout the facility via departmental rotations, with related projects and insights tailored for each area. Additionally, this position will require interns to analyze current productivity processes throughout the facility and help develop related reporting, communication, and efficiencies. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to transition into full-time positions after the internship. The Supply Chain Internship position is available in several locations including Olive Branch, MS, Dallas, TX, City of Industry, CA, Tupelo, MS, Litchfield Park, AZ, Braselton, GA, and South Brunswick, NJ. Interns will partner with the Operations Leadership Team to improve profiling in the building, evaluate various direct processes, and develop tools to optimize, measure, and report productivity. They will also assist in creating process control and training documents, develop and publish reports on productivity and quality, attend operational meetings, and make recommendations to improve operational efficiencies in all areas of the Distribution Center.
