About The Position

Culver Academies is seeking seasonal staff for its Summer Schools and Camps program, which provides a unique leadership development experience for youth aged 7-17. Staff members will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of campers while fostering a positive and supportive environment. The position involves various roles including counselors, instructors, and administrative staff, all aimed at enriching the campers' experience through leadership training and personal development.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; at least 1 year of college preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Desire and ability to work with children/teenagers.
• Demonstrate honesty, self-discipline, and cooperation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to be a positive role model.
• Good health, vitality, and physical stamina.
• COVID-19 vaccination required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in teaching or coaching in specific skills (e.g., coding, archery, etc.).
• Valid Lifeguard Training certification.
• US Sailing certification for naval staff.
• Indiana Boating License for waterski staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of campers/students.
• Establish rapport with campers and administer discipline respectfully.
• Act as a positive role model and demonstrate strong leadership skills.
• Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and coworkers.
• Enforce rules and safety protocols consistently.
• Maintain professional boundaries with campers and staff.
• Report to work on time and in proper attire.
