About The Position

U.S. News & World Report is seeking multiple talented summer outreach specialists to work remotely with the Health Analysis team to support the maintenance and continued expansion of the high-profile “Best Hospitals for Maternity Care” program. Best Hospitals for Maternity Care relies on data collected in an online survey from hospital representatives and provides consumers with highly sought-after information to make informed decisions about where to safely and confidently deliver a baby. Outreach Specialists will conduct outreach to hospitals via email and telephone to promote participation in the 2025 U.S. News Maternity Services Survey. Outreach Specialists will also assist with quality assurance of submitted data and will work with hospitals to ensure that data is correct.

Requirements

  • Eligible candidates must have an undergraduate degree.
  • Demonstrated written and oral outreach or communication experience. Phone banking experience preferred.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and maturity in the workplace.
  • Detail-oriented, with an ability to maintain shared spreadsheets and documents.
  • Proficiency in the use of MSOffice Suite, Google Sheets/Docs, and Slack.

  • Ideal candidates have demonstrated outreach or communications experience, preferably via both phone and email.

Responsibilities

  • Support hospital participation in the Best Hospitals for Maternity Care survey by conducting direct outreach to hospital representatives and following up with a substantial number of hospitals - ideally 150 or more a week - via email and phone.
  • Assist with the validation of collected data by reviewing submitted hospital data, contacting hospitals regarding needed corrections, and answering questions hospitals may have during the data validation process.
  • Participate in other projects for the health team as requested, including supporting the preparation of the annual Best Hospitals Guidebook.
