About The Position

The Atlantic Health System Nurse Externship Program is designed for junior nursing students pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Associate of Science degree in nursing. This 8-week externship provides an opportunity for students to learn about the professional nursing role while being mentored by experienced nurses. Externs will be assigned to specific units within the Atlantic Health System's hospitals and ambulatory sites, where they will gain hands-on experience and develop essential nursing skills.

Requirements

• A minimum of a 3.0 GPA
• Two letters of recommendation from Clinical Instructors/Professors
• BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Observe the professional role of the Registered Nurse
• Learn and enhance critical thinking skills
• Build confidence by practicing and delivering basic nursing care, skills, and competencies
• Develop nursing and time-management skills
