There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.

At Motorola Solutions, we are seeking software engineering interns who are eager to gain real-world development experience on products that are critical to our customers. This internship will involve working on software development for projects related to our Software Defined Radio (SDR) or custom RF communication systems. Interns will be integrated into small, multi-disciplinary teams of 1-6 members, where they will take on full responsibility for product development from the initial requirements gathering phase through to final product delivery. This hands-on experience will encompass various aspects of software development, including requirements analysis, high and low-level design, coding, documentation, and testing and validation. Our products are engineered to meet high standards of quality and reliability, and interns will have the opportunity to learn about our software development processes throughout their involvement in these activities. Ideal candidates will have a background in communications protocols, operating system internals, and development on Linux and/or Android platforms. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C, C++, or Dalvik is essential, with a strong preference for candidates who are also familiar with Linux development environments. Experience with version control systems like Clearcase or GIT is a plus. This position focuses on embedded software development, making it less suitable for those interested in high-level application or web technologies such as .NET, C#, or Rails. Interns should possess a foundational knowledge or interest in microprocessor-based hardware design, as the role will often require hands-on interaction with product hardware for development and debugging purposes. Additionally, a willingness to learn about various wireless communication standards (e.g., GSM, UMTS, CDMA, LTE) is necessary. Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial, as interns will be expected to present their progress to team members and management, and may also have opportunities to interact with customers. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain the necessary security clearance for full-time employment, although security clearance is not required for the internship itself. Candidates with an active security clearance are encouraged to apply.
