About The Position

Genentech's Research and Early Development (gRED) Early Clinical Development (ECD) organization is responsible for developing and executing early development clinical strategies and plans to provide proof-of-concept data with respect to safety, efficacy, and the utility of biomarkers for gRED new molecular entities. Working with the Neuroscience group team, the intern will support a project focused on conducting statistical analyses on historical clinical trial data in Alzheimer's Disease (AD) to evaluate the contribution of biological sex to disease progression and treatment response. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student) or a PhD (enrolled student).
  • Majors in Biosciences, neuroscience, statistics or related fields are required.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with the principles and techniques of data analysis, visualization, interpretation, and assessment of clinical relevance.
  • Strong statistical programming skills in R (preferred), MATLAB, or python.
  • Excellent project management skills: can prioritize multiple tasks and goals and deliver them in a timely, on-target and high-quality manner.

Responsibilities

  • Support a project focused on conducting statistical analyses on historical clinical trial data in Alzheimer's Disease (AD).
  • Create a dataset from a large multi-trial database and conduct post-hoc statistical analyses.
  • Present results at team meetings and at departmental meetings to the Genentech scientific community.
  • Present findings to external audiences at conferences and publications.
  • Lead or participate in intern committees to design and coordinate program events and initiatives.
  • Engage in professional & personal development curriculum throughout the program, including networking opportunities, workshops, and panel discussions.
