The Internship Program at BCBSM is designed to enhance the skills and abilities of young professionals while identifying and attracting future talent for our organization. Interns will gain practical hands-on work experience and a solid understanding of the health insurance industry. This program serves as an excellent opportunity for interns to kickstart their careers by working on meaningful projects, acquiring valuable skills, and networking with employees throughout our organization, potentially paving the way for a future career at BCBSM. Interns will assist in preparing information and research materials to identify business problems, offer recommendations, and support management with the implementation of solutions. They will support leaders on projects aimed at enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Additionally, interns will develop and maintain a solid understanding of BCBSM's business, products, programs, data, organizational structure, and controls. They will analyze business goals, objectives, and needs within the organization, participate in networking events with BCBSM leaders and other interns, and engage in volunteer activities and community outreach to build knowledge of our communities and customers. Participation in department meetings and events, such as monthly Diversity and Inclusion events, department-wide team-building events, and weekly meetings to ensure team alignment, is also expected.
