About The Position

The position involves assisting in the implementation of various recreation programs, providing assistance and information to program participants, and performing related tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility. The role is divided into three main areas: Recreation, Office, and Labor. In the Recreation area, the individual will assist in implementing programs and provide support to participants. The Office responsibilities include performing clerical tasks such as sorting, filing, and copying. The Labor aspect involves performing manual labor tasks and assisting in the general maintenance of City facilities and operations. Some positions are safety-sensitive and subject to random drug/alcohol testing. This is an unclassified at-will position, and the job descriptions are intended to present a general list of tasks and duties performed by employees within this job classification, not an exhaustive list.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Applicants 15 years of age may be eligible for entry-level position with a required work permit
  • Recreation program experience preferred
  • Office and/or clerical support experience preferred
  • General maintenance or custodial experience preferred

  • Understanding of basic principles and practices of record keeping

  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices
