About The Position
The Alcon R&D team is seeking talented and motivated interns for the Summer 2025 Internship program at various locations including Johns Creek, GA; Belmont, Goleta, or Lake Forest, CA; and Fort Worth, TX. This internship offers a unique opportunity for students to gain industry experience while working on meaningful projects that directly impact patient care and customer satisfaction. Interns will be involved in various engineering teams, contributing to innovative projects that enhance eye health and improve the quality of life for patients worldwide. Interns will have the chance to work on projects in different areas such as Extraocular Devices (EOD), Instrumentation, Visualization, and Intraocular Devices (IOD). Responsibilities may include accelerating digitalization processes, collaborating with UX designers, developing next-generation 3D camera systems, and designing implantable devices. This hands-on experience will not only allow interns to apply their academic knowledge but also to develop professional skills through coaching and mentoring opportunities provided by Alcon. The internship is designed for students pursuing degrees in engineering fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, Optics/Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and related majors. Interns will be expected to commit to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week for a duration of 10-12 weeks, providing them with a comprehensive experience in the eye care industry.
