This is a full-time, paid internship based out of our headquarters in San Ramon, CA. The program runs 11 weeks with the opportunity to start in early or mid-June.

Requirements

• Rising college senior or above, pursuing a post-graduate degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python with hands-on experience or a keen interest in data analysis.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and NLP libraries (spaCy, HuggingFace Transformers).
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a passion for exploring and applying new technologies in AI.
• Must be able to work out of our headquarters in San Ramon, CA this summer.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the collection, preprocessing, and quality assurance of datasets to help improve the AI Capabilities within Five9.
• Support the development and fine-tuning of NLP models/pipelines for tasks such as text classification, clustering, summarization, conversational AI, and retrieval augmented generation using tools like PyTorch and HuggingFace Transformers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research insights into production pipelines.
• Participate in evaluating model performance using metrics such as F1, BLEU, and ROUGE, and contribute to iterative improvements.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in NLP and machine learning research, contributing ideas that drive innovation.
