About The Position

The 12-Month Internship Program offers full-time, 12-month internships with stipends for recent college graduates interested in pursuing a museum career. The program includes focused departmental training integrated with a lecture series and financial provisions for research trips related to the interns' fields of interest. Interns will participate in monthly activities designed to provide greater exposure to the museum and art fields. The Architecture and Design Intern will work closely with the Chief Curator and Curatorial Associate on tasks related to an upcoming architecture exhibition, including assisting with loan agreements, researching exhibition catalogue images, and providing administrative support. The exhibition will focus on West African modernist architecture and is scheduled to open in May 2026. The intern will document correspondence with exhibition lenders and manage an organizational system for tracking project milestones and loan agreements. The program runs from approximately September 8, 2025, to August 28, 2026, requiring a full-time commitment (Monday-Friday, 9:30am to 5:30pm).

Requirements

  • Recent graduates of bachelor's or master's degree programs.
  • Background in architecture, architectural history, art history, or design history or theory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with completing loan agreements with exhibition lenders.
  • Research and secure exhibition catalogue images and videos.
  • Provide administrative support for exhibition research and documentation.
  • Establish and document a dialogue with all exhibition lenders.
  • Assemble an administrative organizational system to track correspondence and key project milestones.
  • Assist in the selection of images and obtain image files with accompanying permissions.
  • Coordinate use and license fee payment with MoMA Publications.
  • Systematically document all images with their sources, permissions, and payment.
