About The Position
Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of golf cars, utility and personal transportation vehicles, snowmobiles, side-by-sides, all-terrain vehicles, professional turf-care equipment, and ground support equipment. The Mechanical Engineer I - GSE position is an entry-level role that involves designing, analyzing, and integrating products at both the system and component levels. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across multiple engineering disciplines to develop complex systems, ensuring that products adhere to structural design specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of the detailed design process, including the ability to read and interpret technical drawings of systems, components, and interfaces. In this position, the engineer will assist in providing technical input into vehicle-level and sub-system trades, support development testing, and contribute to the manufacturing production process. Analyzing and interpreting test data is a key responsibility, as is supporting technical reviews that may involve direct interaction with customers. The application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to components and assemblies is also a critical aspect of the role. Additionally, the engineer will need to understand and apply prototype and low-volume manufacturing techniques, including machining, casting, forging, and general fabrication, to the products being developed.
