We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering student to join our Tactical Radars & Effectors department in Tucson, Arizona. The Tactical Radars and Effectors department supports the hardware development, production, and deployment of multiple defense products for Tactical Radars, Effectors, Command and Control Systems, and Naval Systems products. The products support domestic US Government customers at multiple Forces and Agencies including the Air Force, Navy, Army, Missile Defense Agency, and the US Coast Guard. The product lines also support multiple international customers through both US Government Foreign Military Sales and Direct Commercial Sales. This position is an Onsite role, where you will be working primarily in Tucson, Arizona during Summer 2025.

Requirements

  • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of summer 2025.
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience utilizing CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools such as CREO or equivalent.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Application of mechanical engineering fundamentals to challenging design problems.
  • Creation or updates of technical documentation packages.
  • Complete drawing designs as required, operates engineering software and equipment, and confers with stakeholders regarding engineering projects.
  • Collaboration with hardware engineering teams.
  • Mechanical engineering design utilizing CAD software.
  • Support to manufacturing and production.
  • Application of Raytheon hardware design processes and tools.
