The Mechanical Engineering Intern at Lycoming Engines will support various engineering projects through research, analysis, documentation, and reporting. This role provides an opportunity to work closely with engineers and other stakeholders, enhancing operational efficiency and contributing to innovative solutions in aircraft engine manufacturing.

  • Supporting projects related to mechanical engineering
  • Conducting research and analysis to inform engineering decisions
  • Documenting solutions and processes for engineering projects
  • Reporting on completed work and project outcomes
  • Evaluating overall ease of operations and suggesting improvements
  • Communicating with engineers, mentors, suppliers, and customers regarding system operations
  • Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in an accredited engineering or science program, preferably in Mechanical or Systems Engineering
  • Maintaining an overall GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) or higher
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with PowerPoint and Access
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language is preferred
  • Must not require sponsorship to work in the U.S.
  • Experience with CAD software
  • Knowledge of aircraft engine systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
