About The Position

The 2025 Ida Lawrence Research Summer Internship Program at ETS is designed for HBCU students currently enrolled in relevant master's or doctoral programs. Interns will collaborate with leading researchers on significant educational projects, gaining hands-on experience in research methodologies and contributing to impactful studies in education and workforce assessment. The internship spans eight weeks, combining on-campus and remote work, and culminates in a presentation of findings to research teams.

Requirements

• Current full-time enrollment in a relevant master's or doctoral program
• Ability to complete the 8-week internship within the United States
• Relevant field of study in AI/Machine learning, Assessment, measurement, psychometrics, Cognitive or learning sciences, Education, Linguistics, Process data and analysis, Psychology, Qualitative research methods, Statistics and data science, User experience/User interface, or Workforce

Nice To Haves

• Experience in psychometric modeling
• Familiarity with qualitative research methods
• Knowledge of user experience/user interface design

Responsibilities

• Develop a research plan to address a critical issue and execute the plan
• Perform a literature review and develop new frameworks
• Learn specialized procedures or software, if required
• Work with data
• Conduct various psychometric and statistical analyses with real or simulated data
• Prepare a conference proposal
• Draft a research report and document research instruments
• Present findings to teams across Research
